Why are Small Buds also called “popcorn buds” or “mini buds”?

“Popcorn buds” and “mini buds” are alternative names commonly used in the European hemp market to describe smaller-calibre flowers. The popcorn label comes from their appearance, as the smaller calyxes can resemble popped corn kernels in both size and shape.
We use the name Small Buds, a category we introduced in 2019 that fits consistently alongside the rest of our catalogue. While other shops may refer to a similar format as “popcorn buds”, “mini buds”, or simply “smalls”, all of these correspond to what we list as Small Buds.
