In preserving your CBD flowers, you have to be careful and focus on some simple but quite specific measures. But if you follow these hints you could succeed in maintain your hemp flower fresh even for around two years!

The elements to take into consideration, when trying to preserve these products are substantially the following three: light, air, temperature and humidity.

Light

Direct light is the worst enemy of your inflorescences. When exposed, the flower dries and, therefore, loses its properties, leading to a premature deterioration. It is strongly suggested pay attention that the buds are kept away from direct light.

Air

These sativa strains are quite sensitive to air, since they interact with the oxygen contained there. In particular a lack or simply an insufficient amount of air can be dangerous because it contributes to the increase of humidity, the latter responsible of the growth of mould and fungus. At the same time, when the oxygen level is too high, active agents are ruined.

What can be indicated in this case is a suitable storage, that fits the CBD flower’s dimensions, so that it can be easily and completely covered and contained.

Temperature

Cannabis light buds are susceptible to high temperatures, which cause the drought of the flowers and, as a result, an unpleasant taste. Moreover, a CBD flower exposed to heat is very likely to lose terpenes with the evaporation caused by the high temperature.

Better is to keep your cannabis inflorescences in a “cool and dark” place, in order to create a habitat ideal for the preservation of the flower.

Humidity

A major concern in storing your CBD flowers should be to put it in an environment with a balanced level of humidity. As a matter of fact, both too much humidity and a dry habitat can ruin your cannabis weed. While moisture can ease the way to mould and fungus, when humidity is insufficient the flower loses its cannabinoids and terpenes.
