The effects of CBD on the brain and body
Cannabidiol, commonly known by the acronym CBD, is one of hemp’s most important (indeed, the primary) active ingredients. Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), this molecule has no psychoactive effect on the body and is therefore not considered a narcotic.

It has been discovered that it interacts with the endocannabinoid system, i.e. a regulatory system of the body’s main activities and functions such as sleep, hunger and relaxation.
This is thanks to the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the central and peripheral nervous systems. In a nutshell, once taken, CBD binds to these receptors and balances out any imbalances and imbalances. Since these imbalances can be at the root of the onset of stress and anxiety symptoms, let’s look at how cannabidiol can help eradicate them.
CBD for anxiety and stress: yes, it can help
Anxiety and stress are pretty common disorders in the modern world. Hellish rhythms and busy schedules lead many people to live under constant pressure, causing imbalances in the regulatory system of well-being and rest. Generally, people rely on drugs to cope with such situations, which in many cases help to improve things but also include invasive and addictive side effects.
Several studies have shown that CBD, under its relaxing properties, is an excellent alternative to drug therapy for the treatment of stress and anxiety states. Its ability to rebalance the endocannabinoid system enables the body to alleviate the symptoms of these two conditions. How long does CBD take to take effect, and how much does it take to relax?
CBD, as we said, is present in marijuana and hashish and other hemp derivatives. This molecule, however, can be extracted from the inflorescences and taken in the form of CBD oil or capsules. Most people who rely on this remedy to fight anxiety and stress prefer CBD oil drops, and the reason is simple: it is easy to dose and very versatile. It can be mixed with drinks, used in food or taken directly sublingually.
The effects of cannabidiol are quicker if the drops are dosed under the tongue because their absorption is direct; in contrast, passing through the liver system, the effects occur more slowly but lasts longer. Of course, these also vary depending on the amount of CBD one introduces into the body. Commercially available CBD oils can have a higher or lower concentration of this active ingredient; taking the softer version (i.e. 5%) and assuming 4-5 drops under the tongue, we can say that the first tentative effects should occur after 30-90 minutes.
The dosage and concentration of CBD can vary from case to case; a person going through a period of sudden stress might react differently than someone coming from months and months of continuous anxiety. It should be noted, however, that before increasing the dose suggested by the manufacturer, it is prudent to seek advice from your doctor. Abuse of cannabidiol may cause tiredness or low blood pressure.
